It’s Our Birthday — And We’re Celebrating in a Big Way!
In 1982, Meals on Wheels of Summerville began with a simple mission: making sure local seniors had access to nutritious meals and compassionate support. More than four decades later, that mission is stronger than ever — and this year, we are celebrating a milestone season of growth.
Last year, our community rallied behind the vision of renovating our future home: The Little Blue House. Because of your support, that vision is becoming a reality, and this year, the move is officially underway!
As we prepare to open our doors to a new chapter, we are launching our Anniversary Match Campaign — a special opportunity to help fully bring this space to life.
Why This Move Matters
For years, our team has worked out of a 400-square-foot office space shared by five part-time employees and only three desks. Despite limited space and resources, our staff and volunteers have continued serving seniors across our community with heart, dedication, and creativity.
Now, for the first time in our organization’s history, we will have:
- Dedicated workspace for our team
- A larger volunteer and gathering space
- Expanded storage and operational capacity
- A commercial kitchen workspace
- Room to grow programs and services for seniors
This move is about more than a building — it is about creating a home base that allows us to serve more neighbors, more efficiently, and with even greater impact.
What We’re Raising Funds For
While renovation work is still ongoing, we are now entering the final phase: furnishing and equipping the space so it can fully function for our mission.
