As we Celebrate 43 years of service, we are stepping into
The future—into the Little Blue House filled with possibility,
purpose and promise.
Help us write the next chapter.
WHAT
At the end of 2024, an anonymous donor funded the creation of Bethany’s light On A Hill Foundation. Lay Leader, David Powell approached Meals on Wheels of Summerville with an extraordinary opportunity: a $40,000 matching gift to renovate the Little Blue House into a fully operational commercial kitchen—offered to us for lease at just $1 per year.
WHEN
Renovation begins July 1st in partnership with Gilbert & Lee Construction, with a projected move-in and ribbon cutting celebration before the close of 2025! We hope you will check in on updates via our website and social media platforms as well as tour the Little Blue House once we have settled in. This moment speaks to all who have helped carry our vision and we are excited to step into this new chapter together.
WHY
This new space will empower us to extend our reach with intention and efficiency—but more importantly, it will help us continue to show up with compassion, consistency, and care. Each prepared meal crafted under our own roof will reflect our mission’s outreach of a meal…and so much more.
WHERE
The Little Blue House sits directly across the street from Bethany UMC in downtown Summerville—just steps away from where our mission began and continues to grow.
Our Next Chapter Has Begun—Thanks to You!
After 43 truly blessed years of serving our community, Meals on Wheels of Summerville is stepping into a bold new chapter—and a brand-new home: the Little Blue House!
We are profoundly grateful to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, who generously housed our kitchen and offices for over four decades. Their faithful support made our growth possible, and we carry that spirit of generosity with us as we build what comes next.
We’re thrilled to share that—thanks to Bethany UMC’s Little Light on a Hill Foundation, a group of dedicated annual donors, and many of YOU—we not only met our $55,000 match campaign goal... we surpassed it, raising an incredible $58,735 to launch our renovation efforts!
This new space opens the door to deeper impact, greater efficiency, and room to grow. Plans for the Little Blue House include:
-
A custom-built commercial kitchen
-
Dedicated office space for our hardworking staff
-
A warm, welcoming area for the volunteers who make our mission possible
Renovations are underway, but there’s still important work ahead—and continued support will help us fully bring this vision to life.
Leave a Lasting Legacy
As a special thank-you, all donations of $1,000 or more will be commemorated with a custom-engraved brick, thoughtfully placed in the landscaping of our new home. This permanent tribute honors your generosity and reminds all who visit that this house was built on love, compassion, and community—one brick at a time.
Thank you for believing in the mission, the moment, and the future. Let’s keep building it—together.
